Let’s Talk Charcuterie

The best way to making entertaining easy, and it is so popular now, is the charcuterie board. Make sure you choose a board that makes a statement. I love plum boards. The purple and red throughout the wood is magnificent and the texture is sleek. If you are not sure that your board is “food safe,” give it a light sanding with sand paper. Then rub it down with mineral oil, or I make a wonderful board butter that is reasonable in price.

You want the board to provide an assortment of different textures and tastes. For a variety, choose some cured meats, dried fruit, gourmet jams and jellies, cheese, crackers or baguette and olives. You can make your picks to please your budget. There is no right or wrong way to fill the board. For the best flavour, cheese should be served at room temperature. So take it out of the fridge 45 minutes to one hour before serving.

The charcuterie board is like a social board. We gather together around a board, platter, or plate of these savoury bits and indulge. Eating together with family and friends is essential. It enables us to stay connected with the ones we love (or not), allowing bonding to take place over food.

Book a party!!! Invite your friends. You supply the wine. I will create the topping for a charcuterie board to serve to your guest. It's that simple. As a thank you to the hostess you have the chance to receive your very own board and jellies for hosting a party.
